The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: Larson
Oil Paint, Paper, Wood
6 x 30 x 1
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass: Carroll
Oil Paint, Paper, Wood
6 x 34 1/4 x 1
My work is greatly inspired by literature and the importance of connecting to others through storytelling. I am interested in how color is used in novels and how that color translates to a visual form.
My process consists of reading through a novel and noting each time the author names a color. From the authors visual cues I create an index of the book.
The prints come out of a desire to show the pure and simple color story. Through the sculptural paintings I explore the tactile side of books and the affect the physical objects have on the reader.
